WatERP stakeholder workshop


Last 21st January, WatERP project –represented by the Water Catalan Agency and Barcelona Digital Technology Center, held a Stakeholder Workshop at ATLL Concessionària de la Generalitat de Catalunya S.A. Network Control Center, located in Barcelona. The aims of the workshop were to start making initial contacts with relevant stakeholders, collect their experiences, and consider and develop the various ways in which WatERP can assist stakeholders in understanding and managing urban water demand.

This event brought about some interesting points about how ATLL works, barriers that might be encountered, and future plans for the project. Overall, it was a highly successful workshop which yielded some vital information to aid WatERP going forward. In addition, there was a high level of interest in holding a technical workshop to expose WatERP second year results.

ICT for Water Annual cluster meeting


Last Tuesday, 4th February, it took place in Brussels the ICT for Water Annual cluster meeting. In this event, several topics were tacked: roadmap Horizon 2020, initiatives related to water management, DG CNECT priorities. In addition, projects related to ICT Water presented their dissemination and exploitation plans as well as their results. One of these projects was WatERP project represented by Ferran Tersa and Gabriel Anzaldi.

During the afternoon session and as a major outcome of the meeting, the details for a common dissemination event between all projects were discussed.

WatERP review meeting


Last Monday, 3rd February, it took place at DG ConNECT premises in Brussels the first review meeting of WatERP project. After one year of work, the experts designated by the Commission analyzed the report as well as all deliverables produced by the consortium. During the meeting with the officer and the experts, all issues arisen from their evaluation were tackled.

Throughout the Meeting, the experts as well as the Officer highlighted the high technical quality of deliverables and congratulated the WatERP consortium for the work performed. They also emphasized the excellent management and team-work carried out and encouraged the partners to maintain this line of work.

WatERP and the "Smart Water Management"


Last December 10th, 2013, the WatERP Project has participated remotely in the first meeting of the Focus group “Smart Water Management” that took place in Lima, Peru. The FG-SWM will analyze those ICT projects and solutions promoting the intelligent management of water and which can be normalized in the framework of the CE 5 of UIT-T. It will determine the suitable practices facilitating the implementation of those solutions in different countries. The group will prepare a roadmap for normalization taking into account the activities carried out by other organizations and normalization forums.

WatERP listed on ECOWEB


ECOWEB, the new Gateway to European Eco-Innovations, has listed WatERP project on its webpage.

Information about the project aims and activities has been provided to be used as a reference for those who are interested in the proejct outcomes and innovative opportunities. Likewise, we would like to thank the ECOWEB tem for providing the opportunity of spreading our ideas in this important iniciative.

World Resources Forum


During the 6th to 9th of October, 2013, it took place in Davos (Switzerland) the World Resources Forum 2013. This forum is the global platform based in the knowledge transfer on economic, political, social and environmental implications of the use of world resources. The main topics of this conference, among others, were "Resource Efficiency and Governance" and "Sustainable Cities and Infrastructure".

WatERP project, was present at the conference thanks to the assistance of one of the project partners (INCLAM). 

Catalan Water Partnership


WatERP has participated in the immersive strategic and innovation Journey of the Catalan Water Partnership to promote strategic thinking of all the value agents in the chain of the water business and promote internationalization and innovation in industry.

SDEWES Conference


Last week, in Dubrovnik (Croatia), it took place the 8th Conference on Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment Systems. This year, the SDEWES Conference was dedicated to the improvement and dissemination of knowledge on methods, policies and technologies for increasing the sustainability of development by de-coupling growth from natural resources and replacing them with knowledge based economy.

In the framework of this conference, BDigital presented the paper “A holistic ICT solution to improve matching between supply and demand over the water supply distribution chain”.

WatERP at the FIDIC Conference


From 15th through 18th September, 2013, it took place in Barcelona the FIDIC World Consulting Engineering Conference. FIDIC in the International Federation of Consulting Engineers. It promotes and implements the consulting engineering industry’s strategic goals on behalf of its Member Associations and disseminates information and resources of interest to its members.

During the Conference, our partner INCLAM presented the project WatERP at the exposition giving access to the activities and objectives of the project to hundreds of professionals.
