WatERP invited to KINDRA's kick-off meeting


As a CSA, WIDEST is going to implement a series of coordination and support actions that will benefit several EU funded projects. WatERP (318603) is one of those projects which has already benefited from WIDEST activities.

Last March, a networking session took place in Brussels. Thanks to this session, which was chaired by WIDEST Project, WatERP was invited to participate in the kick-off meeting of KINDRA Project. Its main objective is to take stock of Europe’s contemporary practical and scientific knowledge of hydrogeology research and innovations with the help of an inventory of research results, activities, projects and programmes, and the use the inventory to identify critical research challenges and gaps, with a view of avoiding overlaps.

In the framework of this meeting, WatERP presented the taxonomy and the ontology produced within the Project in order to collaborate for the achievement of KINDRA's objectives.

Interoperability Day in Barcelona


Last March 13th, 2015, it took place in Barcelona the Interoperability Day , a national/regional event with the aim of discussing OGC standards. It was organized by the Foro Ibérico y  Latinoamericano del OGC and the Asociación Catalana de Tecnologías de la Información Geospacial (ACTIG). It brought together projects involved in the implementation of standards.

WatERP was present at the meeting to present both the interoperability pilot and the OGC standards applied on the water field.

Cluster meeting in Brussels


After the workshop on the 18th of March, coordinators from water projects funded under the FP7 and H2020 programmes met in Brussels on the 19th of March, with specific objectives:

  • Updating of Water-ICT Roadmap
  • Identification/selection of KPIs (social, economic, environmental)
  • Data use and sharing

WatERP project was one of the projects assisting the meeting and participating in the cluster meeting.

Brussels workshop


Last March 18th, it took place in Brussels a water cluster meeting. Coordinators from 10 FP7 projects and from 5 H2020 projects met in Brussels to hold a working workshop that offered a framework for project partners to prepare for the cluster meeting that was held on the next day. The assistants worked in topic-focused groups and they prepared an input for the rapporteur. The meeting was chaired and guided by the Horizon 2020 Water4a funded projects. Official from the EC and EASME also attended the meeting.

WatERP project was one of the projects assisting the meeting and participating in the workshops.

WatERP project at EASME meeting


The Executive Agency for SMEs (EASME) has recently organized a Water Eco-innovation meeting on 26th February, in Brussels. This meeting was held due to the official launch of the new H2020 projects with the aim of bringing together beneficiaries and coordinators of previous projects funded under the Seventh Framework Programme for Research, ICT Water Cluster and FP7-Inno-Demo Water calls.

WatERP project was presented in this meeting by the participation of Gabriel Anzaldi who presented the main objectives of the project and the advances and results obtained so far.

The meeting helped participants to identify synergies among new and old projects as well as between the projects and current political initiatives so as to maximize the projects’ impact.

ICT4Water Cluster newsletter #2


ICT4Water Cluster has just published the second number of its newsletter. In this occasion, the information provided about WatERP is focused on the standardization experiences and know-how referring to OGC®.

The participation of project partners in conferences such as  eChanllenges e-2014 or WaterIdeas Conference is highlighted together with our participation in the parallel workshop “Standardization of Water Data Exchnage” in the framework of the HIC2014.

NETWERC H2O open meeting


Last November 6th, WatERP participated of the NETWERC H2O meeting. The Network for Water in European Regions and Cities, NETWERC H2O, is an association for European municipal and regional governments whose objective is the promotion and development of sustainable practices related to the management of water.

WatERP present in the EIP on Water conference 2014


European Innovation Partnership  aims to speed up innovations that contribute to solve societal challenges, enhance Europe's competitiveness and contribute to job creation and economic growth. The aim of the second Annual Conference of the European Innovation Partnership on Water is to connect innovation demand and supply by showcasing impact, identifying demand for innovation, and examining and addressing the gaps and barriers in innovation demand and supply in the water sector.

Visit to the federal Institute of Hydroogy (BfG)


WatERP researches shared a workday with their colleagues from BfG. Important experiences related to OGC standards were discussed, the strategy used in WatERP to be compatible with HY_Features model and, particularly, the semantic mapping implementation. Future ways of collaboration were explored and initiated.

SDEWES 2013 publication
